14 Minute Gap

Again, this is probably nothing new for you guys, but I've learned of this only recently and thought I'd put it out there.LBJ had his office bugged and had virtually every phone call recorded as well, even as Vice President. On the morning after the assassination he had a phone call with J. Edgar Hoover. The tape of that recording included a 14 minute segment which was later determined to have been intentionally erased. Below is the link for Bradbury's story regarding this. (By the way, Bradbury and I could pass for identical twins! Too weird!)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebaITZP6Fg8

I think maybe Johnson, just like Nixon had his office intentionally bugged to cover his ass....in case of a set up.

That is an outstanding link. And John has given us some great links and opinions over time, but to be fair, Thom was the fellow who turned us on this time with this link. As I have said many times, I think this forum has attracted a lot of great researchers that are constantly thirsting for answers and and at the same time helping educate all of us with what they have found. Ken, you do a great job as well in this category.

My pleasure! Glad to be able to turn you on to something new.One quick thing about that link; seems obvious that the man in the Oswald photo in Mexico City is Jim Hicks- there can really be no doubt on this. Hicks claimed to be a radio coordinator in Dealey Plaza and he was cooperative with Garrison's investigation, but he has been universally discredited by lone nutters and truth seekers alike (homeless, alcoholic, looney bird). Seems very odd to me that a guy positively identified as being in Dealey Plaza (with a device of some kind dangling out of his back pocket) who is also the man in Mexico City photo would be so easily dismissed.

What content could have been erased?

Well, those are the questions, aren't they? The most obvious explanation is that the erased portion of the tape would have revealed information implicating Johnson and Hoover either in the planning of the assassination, or the coverup, or both. Johnson, knowing that the conversation was taped, would then have immediately arranged for the erasure of the damning segment. I suppose it could have been arranged later as well, but it's hard to imagine Johnson allowing the existence of such incriminating evidence.

It was funny the cover story the LBJ library used about that tape and the lengths to cover it up with their phony story.

I believe JFK also had his office bugged: if he wanted a particular conversation recorded he'd press a buzzer to alert Mrs Lincoln to do the biz. And poor grieving Bobby had to spend the day after JFK's murder making sure it was all dismantled.Just something presidents did to CTAs, I reckon.
